This summer, the Michigan International Speedway (MIS) will be host to the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. This exciting, three-day event promises to be a grand finale to the 2018 racing season at MIS.
MIS is fairly unique among race tracks, in that it is also a campground. In fact it’s the largest registered campground in the state of Michigan. There are nearly nine thousand campsites for outdoor enthusiasts and racing fans, who have made a tradition of spending the entire weekend at MIS to watch the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup series. Over the course of the event, racing fans will have the opportunity to watch their favorite drivers push themselves and their vehicles to their utmost. Three big races are planned.
Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Practice & Qualifying Race
The action-packed weekend begins on Friday, August 10, at 5:00 PM, with a MENCS Practice race. It will feature the best drivers in the sport as they prepare themselves and their cars for Sunday’s main event. Racing fans up to 12 years old get in free!
Corrigan Oil 200
NASCAR trucks may not be quite as famous as their stock car counterparts, but watching them race 100 laps as part of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is sure to thrill any racing fan. This race starts at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 11, and is followed by a free concert for all attendees!
Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series
This is the big one that everyone’s been waiting for. The MENCS is NASCAR’s top series, and only the best of the best drivers participate in it. The green flag drops Sunday, August 12 at 2:30 PM. For those who can’t make it to MIS (what a pity!), the event will be televised on NBC Sports.

Logano and Pennzoil have high hopes for the 2018 season.
